A Greenhouse of Small Experiments

A visit to the artist's laboratory of glass and damp air, where failure is a crop you rotate, not a verdict.

The greenhouse is the artist's laboratory, scaled to the size of a house. Glass walls admit the light; the air is warm and damp and full of intention. Here, failure is a crop you rotate, not a verdict. Inside, the practice is botanical but the questions are painterly: what does green do next to green? How does light change a leaf at four in the afternoon? The experiments are small, but they are real. Visiting the studio, you understand that curiosity is a kind of gardening. You plant a question, water it with attention, and see what volunteers.
